Our colleague from Leitat, Guillermo Ortiz Seco took part in the 7th IWA International Conference on Ecotechnologies for Wastewater Treatment (ecoSTP 2025) in Stockholm.

During Monday’s technical session, Guillermo outlined NINFA’s decentralised urban-runo6 treatment concept—a two-step train that couples a nature-based solution with an advanced oxidation process (AOP) to eliminate polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and microplastics before they infiltrate groundwater bodies.

The contribution supports NINFA’s principal goal of preventing and mitigating groundwater pollution across Europe.
