IMT Atlantique participated in the 14th IWA International Conference on Water Reuse and Reclamation, held from March 16-19, 2025, in Cape Town, South Africa.
The event brought together around 700 experts committed to advancing sustainable water reuse solutions through multidisciplinary collaboration and shared global experiences.

As part of the conference, IMT Atlantique contributed two oral presentations on March 18, 2025:

  • Sarah Ghaffari presented “Perception and Social Awareness of Citizens Regarding Water Reuse: Contribution of a Sociological Qualitative Survey“. She highlighted the importance of qualitative sociological research in understanding public perception and acceptance of water reuse, emphasizing its advantages over purely casual approaches.
  • Maellia Dubourg shared insights on “Managing Urban Wastewater for Potential Reuse: Coupling Techniques for the Elimination of Emerging Contaminants“. Her presentation explored the role of activated carbon adsorption in advanced treatment technology trains, focusing on bio-based and regenerated mineral activated carbons for removing pharmaceuticals from wastewater.

IMT Atlantique’s participation in this international forum reflects NINFA’s commitment to innovative research and sustainable water management practices.
