The NINFA consortium gathered in Nantes for its 30-month milestone meeting, hosted by IMT Atlantique on April 29 -30, 2025. The two-day event brought together project partners from across Europe to review progress, exchange insights, and shape the next phase of NINFA’s journey toward a sustainable, water-smart Europe.
Held at IMT Atlantique’s Nantes Campus, the meeting featured focused work package presentations, interactive workshops, and dynamic discussions on technical developments, citizen engagement, and policy impact.
The agenda on Day 1 included updates on the project’s case studies, sensor deployment, water treatment technologies, and sustainability assessment. A guided tour of the IMT labs provided a first-hand look at ongoing research, followed by a workshop led by DELTARES on risk assessment and climate scenarios. The day concluded with the first podcast recording session and a networking dinner.
Day 2 centered on the NINFA Platform development, communication and dissemination strategies, and citizen engagement. Participants took part in the workshop discussing the social game development. Furthermore, the partners explored how the project can generate greater impact and how its results can be translated into actionable policies. The meeting concluded with project management updates and a summary of next steps.
Special thanks to IMT Atlantique for the warm hospitality and excellent organization, and to all partners for their energy, collaboration, and continued commitment. The 30M meeting reinforced the strength of the NINFA partnership and our shared mission to protect groundwater and foster innovation for the future of water in Europe.
