On 21 April 2026, the NINFA Project will host an on‑site and online workshop in Los Alcázares, Murcia, focused on innovation, technology, and real solutions for groundwater management.
The event brings together project partners, technical coordinators, local authorities, and invited experts to share knowledge and discuss current groundwater challenges at both local and European levels.
Participation in the workshop is free of charge, with lunch and refreshments included at no cost. Prior registration is mandatory and must be completed before 21 April 2026, before online and on‑site places are fully booked.
The workshop will offer a clear overview of the local groundwater situation in Los Alcázares, including a dedicated expert talk on the main challenges faced in the area, as well as contributions from the local administration.
Participants will then be introduced to the NINFA Project, its objectives, key technologies, and pilot actions. The session will be led by Leitat, the project coordinator, together with other NINFA project partners, including Aqualia and WINGS. Project technical coordinators and responsible partners will be present throughout the workshop to answer questions, support discussions, and facilitate interaction with participants.
The session will also include a presentation and live demonstration of the NINFA Decision Support System (DSS), a digital tool developed within the project to support evidence-based groundwater management. The NINFA DSS integrates environmental data, monitoring results, and modelling outputs to help public authorities and stakeholders better assess groundwater quality and support informed decision-making.
The agenda also includes sessions dedicated to sister projects and local initiatives, invited speakers, and open discussion, creating space for exchange and collaboration. A coffee break and lunch will be provided for in‑person attendees, offering additional networking opportunities.
This workshop is aimed at water management professionals, public authorities, researchers, technology providers, students, and stakeholders involved in environmental sustainability, groundwater protection, and decision‑making processes. Attendance is possible in person in Los Alcázares or online, making the event accessible to a wide audience.
